Revu 20 reached End of Support on 31 July 2026 and reaches End of Life on 31 December 2026. Bluebeam published two distinct milestones for Revu 20. They are not the same thing, and the difference matters for how urgently you need to act.
The practical read: if Revu 20 is installed and activated on a machine you already own, and you use it offline for markup and measurement, it does not vaporise on 1 January 2027. What you have lost, or are about to lose, is the safety net — support, licence portability, and every cloud-connected feature.
The risk is not that the software stops opening. It is that you are one hard-drive failure away from having no way to move your licence, on an unsupported product, mid-tender.
Bluebeam states the notice applies to all Revu 20 licence holders — including perpetual, open, site, enterprise, academic and not-for-resale (NFR) licences. If you are holding a perpetual licence you bought outright years ago, you are included.
There is no single right answer here — it depends almost entirely on what you actually used Revu for. Be honest about that before you spend anything.
Keep Revu 20 on the machine it is activated on. Accept no support, no licence transfer, and no Studio or API access.
Viable if you are a one-person shop on a stable machine and you never used Studio. Not viable if your team collaborates through Studio, or if you cannot absorb losing the licence with the hardware.

The obvious choice if Revu is genuinely central to how your business runs. The friction is the shift from a one-time purchase to a recurring per-user cost. Check current pricing and tiers directly with Bluebeam.
Tools such as Drawboard, Adobe Acrobat or Foxit cover markup and basic measurement at varying price points.
Sensible if you mostly needed to redline and annotate. Most general PDF tools measure lines and areas but have no trade-specific logic — they will not count your fittings or track duct surface area for you.
If you look honestly at your Revu usage and the answer is "I measured pipe and duct runs and typed them into Excel", you were using a general markup tool to do a specialist job.

Most of the newer takeoff tools that will be marketed to you over the next few months are cloud-based. You upload the drawing set, their servers process it, and quantities come back. That model works — but it means your confidential tender drawings sit on a third party's infrastructure during a competitive bid.
